First meeting of the national mirror committee

The chamber at Fort DIN is furnished. Interest in the standard for knights' helmets is so great that the OSH knights of the Standards Table must find more seats. Finally, though, they are all seated. The meeting begins with election of the committee's chairperson. Who will be the senior knight or senior lady?

Since sufficient support is provided by other CEN members, the work of standardization can begin. Suitable committees have been found at national and European level and the new topic has been placed on the agenda. The experts discuss the proposal in the mirror committee. A mirror committee is a national committee that reflects the standardization work carried out at European level. This means that the work at European level can be discussed in the mirror committee in the relevant national language. The results of the discussion are reflected back to the European level. Ideally, a mirror committee should be made up of representatives of all stakeholders. A chairperson who leads and moderates the discussions in the committee is elected from among the committee's members. Each standards committee at DIN is supported by a DIN secretary. The functions of the secretary include organizing the meetings and distributing the documents to the committee's members.
