The proclamation on the market square and the notice on the EUROSHNET tree have had the desired effect. A number of blacksmiths and helmet traders wish to support the standard for knights' helmets. All manner of people with some form of connection to knights' helmets are involved. The preparations are complete and the work of developing the standard can begin.
Standards should ideally be produced by consensus between all stakeholders. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to recruit all stakeholders to the process. A standards committee is still capable of completing its task even if not all stakeholders are represented. The composition of a German standards committee is set out for example in the DIN Guidelines for Standards Committees.
