Application for standardization

The OSH knights and ladies of KANelot now have in mind exactly what their standardized knight's helmet should look like. They ride to Fort DIN and submit their application. On the way to Fort DIN, they inform fellow-travellers of their project.

Anyone may submit an application for standardization. The more precise and detailed the proposal at the application stage, the greater the likelihood that this content will find its way into the future standard. Applications are always made to the relevant national standards institute. The institute first examines whether a standard can be developed at European level. Only when it has proved impossible to find an adequate number of supporters for the standard at European level may a standard be developed at national level.
