OSH recommendations concerning SARS-CoV-2

In February, the German Committee for biological agents (ABAS) assigned the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to risk group 3, the second-highest risk group.

Tasks involving SARS-CoV-2 (e.g. viral replication) and persons infected with it, and non-specific activities such as laboratory diagnostics, are covered by existing regulations, particularly by the technical rules for biological agents TRBA 250 and TRBA 100, supplemented by ABAS Decision 609.
