A medical engineer by training, Ms Behr-Meenen held the post of Prevention Manager for many years at the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the public sector in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. She completed her degree in occupational safety and health management part-time, and is currently completing her doctorate on the subject of radiation exposure in interventional medicine. Before joining KAN, she headed the office of the Bremen regional authority's labour inspectorate.
