The Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) has published a legal opinion on the European system of harmonized standards. The expert opinion questions the EU Commission's interpretation of the Standardization Regulation 1025/2012 and contains a neutral analysis on harmonized standards.

The legal opinion is supplemented by a catalogue of questions and answers (Q&A) to make the core statements easier to understand.
