In 2014, KAN joined the French OSH institutes EUROGIP and INRS in signing a joint declaration on standardization policy in the field of occupational safety and health. The declaration dealt with issues that were emerging at that time, such as the role of new forms of standardization document, standardization in the area of services and the standardization of management systems.

Occupational safety and health institutes in several countries have now updated the position in order to bring it up to date and add further aspets that will have a significant impact on current and future standardization work. In addition to EUROGIP, INRS and KAN, CIOP-PIB (Poland), FIOH (Finland) and INSST (Spain) also participated in the update.

The common position includes the following issues:

  • Product standardization
  • The role of "other deliverables"
  • Standardization in the field of services
  • Standardization in the area of the health and safety of workers at work
  • Standardization of management systems
  • Digitalization regarding standardization work and standardization topics
  • Development of articial intelligence in the field of OSH
  • EU standardization strategy
  • Perspectives for future joint commitment

This document serves as an important basis for all OSH professionals in European standardisation work in the field of occupational health and safety.
