Workplace safety and health can be enhanced by the use of suitable smart digital monitoring systems. Apps, cameras and wearables collect data from users and analyse them. How effective the systems are depends on their precision. Equally important is for employers and employees to be informed of their benefits and drawbacks in the interests of effective implementation.

Two EU-OSHA studies address the challenges and opportunities for workplace safety and health presented by smart digital monitoring systems.

The first study examines the various types of smart digital monitoring systems, and their purpose and use. The second examines examples of good practice for introduction of these systems at the workplace.
