Under the heading "Digital Human Modelling and Applications in Health, Safety, Ergonomics and Risk Management", Nicola Helfer, technical officer in the Technical and Scientific Department of the KAN Secretariat, and Dr. Peter Nickel, head of the Intelligent Technical Systems and Work Environment Section at the IFA, will be hosting two sessions:
From 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, session S200 will deal with design requirements for mobile intelligent devices or whether smart glasses can be used efficiently in order picking. It will also address how augmented reality feedback can improve ergonomics training and how virtual reality can be used to prevent slip, trip and fall accidents.
In Session S215, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Dr Schmidt from BioMath will present the challenges hindering standardised ergonomic assessments using digital human models. The basis for this lecture is the KAN project on digital ergonomics that she conducted. Other topics in this session include the digital transformation of office and knowledge work from the perspective of occupational health and safety, and human factors in the interface design of electronic control systems for mechanical equipment in stage and studio automation.
