In February 2023, ISO adopted a new Code of Ethics and Conduct. It takes immediate effect and replaces the previous ISO Code of Ethics, the Code of Conduct for ISO governance and management and the ISO Code of Conduct for Technical Work.

The new Code sets out principles for the conduct of persons acting for or on behalf of ISO. These persons commit to complying with legal and statutory obligations and adhering to the set of values, principles and policies defined in the Code.

ISO’s work is carried out in an international, multi-stakeholder, multi-sector environment. ISO therefore considers it imperative that its activities are conducted in an ethical manner that warrants the confidence of all parties involved in standardization and that of the general public.
