The importance of artificial intelligence (AI) is on the rise in many areas, including the workplace. The use of AI systems in applications or products raises new questions regarding occupational safety and health, in particular where they are used as part of assistance systems or safety functions in machinery.
We are closely monitoring standardization activity in the field of AI, with a focus on projects that may potentially be harmonized under the EU's AI Act or Machinery Regulation. In 2025, KAN outlined its fundamental expectations regarding AI standardization in a position paper.
