In addition to providing a general introduction to the mission, structure, and modus operandi of KAN, this report provides a brief look back over KAN's first eight years in existence. New subjects from the field of standardization which have been addressed by KAN in the last two years are presented.
As usual, however, the focus of the report is the presentation of specific areas of KAN's technical activity performed during the period concerned. This report presents projects and the corresponding results on the following subjects:
- European and international standardization activity
- European co-operation
- Organization of occupational health and safety
- Safety of machinery
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safety of electrical appliances
- Medical devices
- Accreditation of test and certification bodies
- Pressure equipment and pressure vessels
- Information on OH&S and standardization (NoRA)
- General product safety
The report further provides a summary of KAN's public information activity, introduces the reader to members of KAN and the staff of the KAN Secretariat, and documents KAN position statements.
